For mains we had Surf & Turf Gumbo ($27++). It was a mixture of shrimp, chicken, sausage, okra tomato stew with dirty rice, pickled onion, cilantro, chow chow relish and french bean salad. While it may closely represent our Asian version of Mui Fan or look like Fried Rice to you, it is so much more flavourful. It was once known as poor man food, a one pot wonder but with all these high quality ingredients used, it is definitely an upgraded version of it.
There was also the Deconstructed Salmon Spanakopita ($29++). It is a dish of pan roasted salmon with sauteed spinach, crumbled feta crumbs, hung yoghurt, Lemon Beurre Blanc, crispy leeks and olive oil caviar.
The salmon was light and refreshing and it had a very clean flavour to it. If you are a salmon lover, you will enjoy this dish.
We were introduced the Chargrilled Portobello Stack ($20++). A vegetarian dish, this dish was made specially for vegetarians in mind. Consisting of eggplant, pickled onions, cucumbers, salsa verde, tomatoes, herbed potatoes, goats cheese and spinach with maple balsamic reduction and crispy artichokes, there are many different flavours to it. Vegetarian food just got more exciting!
For desserts we had Black Forest Cake ($14++) and also Mojito Tart ($12++), a toasted coconut tart with mint lime curd & rum cream.
