Minister for Culture, Community and Youth and Second Minister for Ministry of Communications and Information, Mr Lawrence Wong, graced the launch of the House of Timbre at The Arts House on 17th November.IMG_8992

The House of Timbre now consists of Timbre @ The Arts House, Restaurant Olivia Cassivelaun Fancourt (OCF), Barber Shop and the Timbre Music Rehearsal Space – a training and practice space for budding and emerging musicians.

IMG_4164 The new House of Timbre features a variety of music styles, from acoustic classic rock and Top 40s at Timbre @ The Arts House to Barber Shop’s blues, funk and soul and jazz at OCF. The House of Timbre will also conduct special dance workshops with a focus on fusing live music and dance at The Timbre Music Rehearsal Space. Besides music, the House of Timbre boasts three unique dining options; semi-fine dining at OCF, casual dining at Timbre @ The Arts House and delectable soul food at Barber Shop. If you enjoy eating food in a place with awesome music playing, this is it, you even get to choose what genre of music you prefer.IMG_4159

Minister Wong played a few songs on the guitar with Singapore band Raw Earth and Danny Loong of Timbre Group. He certainly had a good time playing the guitar as we grooved to the beat and he fitted in nicely with the band.

It was a night of great music and awesome food and drinks at The Barber Shop. Support Singapore’s own musicians by dropping by and having a few drinks.

To celebrate the official launch, the House of Timbre will be showcasing a special two-week music programme. For more details visit http://www.timbregroup.asia
