Tips on Starting a Blog

A blog is a regularly updated website or web page, typically one run by an individual or small group, that is written in an informal or conversational style. Influential bloggers these days are called ‘influencers’ and they have a certain reach on their social media platforms.

Here I’m going to give your tips on starting your own blog!

  1. Establish the direction in which your blog is going. Is it a food blog or a beauty, makeup, fashion, travel blog? It could also be something that you’re interested as well as knowledgeable in.
  2. Set up your ‘about me’ page and be as accurate as possible, telling readers what to expect when they decide to follow your blog. What benefits or help will you be able to provide your readers with?

  3. Set the theme of your blog towards the direction of your blog. Keep it simple and straightforward, for readers to immediately grasp the genre of your blog.

  4. Blog in your own writing style, and decide if you want your blog to be on a more casual or formal side. Usually people who blog on their personal life use a more casual tone. But if you want to set up more of an informative blog, a formal tone will be fine as well.

  5. Use your first post to welcome readers and give an overview of what you’re going to talk about in the next few posts, and to ask your readers to stay tuned.

Lastly, blog about things you love, or are interested in. Blogging is supposed to be fun, to let you express and share your feelings with other like-minded people. Speak your mind, have fun expressing your thoughts, but do remember to be sensitive and considerate and not use your words to intentionally hurt someone with your words!
