The Four New Heavenly Kings
The limited edition farmed pesticide-free posh Mao Shan Wang durian in organic pandan snow skin, the exotic century egg with pickled ginger embedded in low sugar white lotus paste mini flaky-Teochew mooncake, the luscious egg custard traditional baked mini mooncake, and the new-to-market New Zealand golden kiwi mini snow skin with a strawberry centre, are made with superb craftsmanship and are produced fresh daily with no artificial flavourings, stabilizers, colouring essence, or preservatives, a true sign of Peony Jade’s uncompromising commitment to quality and excellence.
Making its majestic debut this year is the PREMIUM POSH (farmed pesticide-free) ($60 nett for 2 pieces and $102 nett for 4 pieces). This limited edition creation (only 500 boxes are available) uses only pesticide-free 100% premium Cat Mountain King durian pulp from Pahang. Its pungent and unusually bitter composition is enrobed in a duvet of chewy and soft green organic pandan snowskin made with organic pandan juice.
For its army of loyal fans who span several generations, the Cantonese cuisine “royalty” – century eggs – have transformed into this season’s must-try in the glorious form of the exotic Mini Century Eggs Pastry Mooncakes, ($62 nett for 8 pieces). This not-for-the-faint-hearted delicacy pairs the pungent preserved egg, slices of pickled ginger embedded in low sugar pure white lotus paste with a light and flaky pastry skin. Another “royalty” from the age-old cuisine is the undeniably buttery-sweet egg custard that rules almost every dim sum feast. Peony Jade’s Baked Mini Egg Custard Mooncakes, ($62 nett for 8 pieces), impresses with the contrasting yet complementary sweet and savoury notes of its briny scented salted egg yolk enriched with butter, eggs, evaporated milk, and flour, resulting in a perfectly balanced morsel that simply melts in the mouth.
The Five New Fruity Flavours
The 4 Little Heavenly Kings Premium Fruitti Mini Snowskin, ($76 nett for 8 pieces) range boasts these 3 newcomers. The first unique and refreshing contender is the Japan Kyoho Grapes, primarily grown in Yamanashi and Nagano prefectures and harvested twice a year in August and September,ey are graded carefully for color, size and imperfections. Peony Jade spares no expense at using only top-drawer ingredients and this is no exception. The second fruit-inspired creation is the Peach-Passionfruit-Chocolate with Champagne Mousse centre.
